Hey everybody
My name is Amanda and i'm 23 years old, and on my second year of History of Literature. i'm not sure what im supposed to write on this profile page, but if anyone is supposed to get to know me a bit through this weblog, it could make sense to tell you guys a bit about my sparetime. At the moment i'm taking my second salsacourse down town, a social and fun activity that allows you to explore your own dancing abilities and certanly your physical shape! If you have the courage even though you might be a beginner, you can attend all sorts of salsaevents where you can test your skills;-)
I also enjoy the monthly poetry readings at LYNFabrikken, down in vestergade- which is a center in Aarhus of creativity, art and cultural events. So if anyone is interested i think the next reading is late February- you can tjeck their website- i think it will be Lars Bukdahl next time among others..
An Urban Adventure in Aarhus, would be the exhibition 4 weeks ago in the art gallery Machwerket in Vestergade. I think it was called "Flemmings House and Garden"- and art event originated form the artist Mads Peter Laursen. Inside the gallery different street artists had build a real wooden house, with real grass and flowers in the gaden next to it. What was special about it, was that they took the exhibition outside as well, and so the wooden house continued and expanned on the walls outside the gallery as well. So they took the event outside and into the public space, with local artist decorating the facade as well, making fires, playing music, and making soup for the people passing by in Vestergade…
MAPPING THE CITY:
Due to my lack of competence according to tecnique and such, neither do i have a digital camera or the abillities to create a map online..So you will just have to settle for the Concept:
I wanted to do a map of green spots or grass spots in Århus, besides from the ordinary ones like the Botanical Garden and so on. One of the favourite excursions would be vititing the Japanese Garden of Denmark in Tilst- a bit far away from centre but definetely worth going to, if you would like to drink your sake some place else than a worn out wooden bench downtown;-)
Other examples could be Forst Botanical Garden- a smaller and more exquisit version of the ordinary one
- The Greenhouse
- The Memorial park
and so on…
