Hi everybody…
Well, I'll probably have to start this page with the most basic stuf about my person: I am a student at history of art, just started my fourth semester on my BA, live in Århus and I'm 24 years old.
An urban adventure I experienced my self, not recently, but locally situated, was when the old industrial building KFK down at the harbour was transformed into a free space for creative pictorial expression. The expressions ranged all the way from simple letters, over stencil and grafitti pieces to expressive painting.— Another place in europe which is worth chekking out in this context is the huge old industrial area Ruhrgebit in Germany. Here, old aparently useless industrial areas are reinvented into a new and progressive cultural zone, among others including koncert places, art exhibitions and galleries.
I am very interested in street art, always trying to collect new photos whereever I go.

A street artist, quite famous and populer these days, whose works I also enjoy is "Zevs". His agende is political but his tools for communication are very often aestetic. The danish news paper politiken brought an article on him saturday the 16. th. of february.-And chek out this link; Zevs in action.Zevs
Another guy making spectacular street art is Mark Jenkins.Mark Jenks
Books which represent street art visually and take up some interesting discussions on the subject:"City Language, Berlin" by Christoffer Mangler, "Sreet Renagades" by Francesca Gavin, "Saber, Mad Society" by Saber, edited by Roger Gastman, "Wall and Piece" by Banksy.
See you all in the streets or at the course
Mind Map- Assingment for Tuesday the 19 th. of february:
My Personal 3.D Mind Map
To me it doesn’t seem like a traditional structured map on paper is able to capture my feeling of the city, therefore I’ll try to add plasticity to it. Basically my idea is to hang up a lot of strings miming the structures that we already know from the city; roads, paths etc. Then I’ll add a lot of different objects which I personally find defining to a specific area.
An example could be a brick hanging where I go by construction work on my way to school, or it could be that very nice bon that you can only bye in one of the bakeries at Frederiksbjerg. Another example could be a concert ticket or a cigarette.- This way I’ll be able to create the whole city’s anatomy / personality from my point of view.
The viewer, trying to read my personal mind map, will then be walking around in a miniature world of how I interpret and experience the city. To me it would also be a challenge, translating my experience of the city into representative objects.
If this idea isn’t quite what you asked us to do, another personal mind map could be one structured after smells.
